In 1987 and 1991 BIMHUIS organized the first October Meetings in Amsterdam, two improvised music summits that sent tremors around the creative music world. In 2016, BIMHUIS set up a third October, presenting European musicians, with an emphasis on younger voices. The musicians spent a few days before the concerts took place rehearsing, improvising, and forming new constellations. This CD is a selection of the material that was presented during 3 concert days.

Mike Osborne was a very special musician...I remember him as quietly intense and thoughtful and not a seeker of the limelight...I must have seen him play dozens of times in many small venues from ‘68 to ‘75 or so...I loved his playing...a high end technician but full of heart as well as head...I still listen to his music a lot on the original vinyl and i’m so pleased this gig has surfaced.
